Penn State women’s football reveals No.5 ranked recruiting class

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania. – Penn State’s women’s football program welcomed seven signatories to their 2022 recruiting class on national signing day.

The class is ranked # 5 in the country by Top Drawer Soccer and is the fifth Top 5 class in the program for the past 9 years.

Olivia borgen
Hanson, MA | # 172 in total, # 6 in the northeast

High school: Attends Whitman-Hanson Regional High School in Hanson, MA… 3x Patriot League All-Star… 2x Boston Globe All-Scholastic… 2019 All-State… 2020 All-New England… 2019 Team MVP… Patriot League Champions 2019… The club team is South Shore Select GA… 2017 NPL National Champions… 2017 South Shore Select Coaching Awards.

Staff: Full name is Olivia Halina Borgen… Daughter of Michael and Dorothy Borgen… Has 1 brother, Max… Cousin Lindsay attended Penn State… Born December 12th.

Why Penn State? “I chose Penn State because they have a great football program as well as great academics. I also like the moral of the program and the coaching style. Not only does Penn State have an amazing football program, their entire sports team is doing well, and it seems like such a cool experience to be surrounded by so many talented athletes at school. I know Penn State is going to push me to step out of my comfort zone every day on the court and in the classroom, and I can’t wait. “

Mackenzie gress
Lyndhurst, New Jersey | Player n ° 17 overall, goalkeeper n ° 3 overall

Luciana Latino
Norwood, New Jersey | Player No. 38 overall, No. 2 in New Jersey and midfielder No. 14 overall

High school: He attends Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, NJ… The club team is PDA… 2nd team ENCL… North Atlantic conference champions.

Staff: Full name is Luciana Olivia Latino… Daughter of Jen and Vin… has 1 brother, Giovanni… cousin Gabriella attended Penn State… Born November 2nd.

Why Penn State? “Years ago, when I started the recruiting process, I asked some of my older ECNL teammates how they knew which school was right for them. At the time, they offered the seemingly useless advice of “you will know when you know”. When I first arrived at State College and historic Jeffrey Field years ago, I knew exactly what they were talking about and, more importantly, I knew this was exactly where I wanted to play the game. college football. The USP women’s soccer coaching team as well as past and present players have worked tirelessly to create a hardworking, relentless, self-cultured team that I just can’t wait to be a part of. High school: Attends Eastside Catholic School in Seattle, WA… The club team is Eastside FC… 2021 ECNL League Champions… 2018-2021 US National Youth Team Participant… Quarter Finalist Development Academy 2019 national qualifiers (Reign Academy 04).

Staff: The full name is Alivia Marie Uribe… Daughter of Cynthia and Mauricio Uribe… Has 1 brother, Gabe… Born February 26th.

Why Penn State? “I chose Penn State because of its academic and athletic opportunities. Academically, the Smeal College of Business offers me a wonderful opportunity to pursue my dreams in finance. In the long term, I hope to use this business experience to access a position in sports marketing.

Staff: Full name is Amelia Grace White… Daughter of Laura and Avery… has 2 siblings, Sophia and Addison… Born June 17th.
