Ronzoni Smart Taste Extra Large Noodles recalled due to missing label ingredient

Riviana Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling 19,931 cases of certain Ronzoni Smart Taste Extra Large Coded Cellophane Noodle Wraps that contain an egg noodle product. The affected Ronzoni Smart Taste Extra Large Noodle Wraps do not declare the allergen “egg”, which is an ingredient in the noodle product. People who are allergic or very sensitive to eggs are at risk of a serious allergic reaction if they consume this product. The affected product was distributed nationally from March to August of this year.Riviana Foods Inc.

Riviana Foods Inc. is voluntarily recalling 19,931 cases of Ronzoni Smart Taste Extra Large Noodles due to a missing potentially allergenic ingredient on the label.

According to a press release, the packages do not include eggs in the ingredient list. People who are allergic or sensitive to eggs can have a serious allergic reaction.

Riviana said the noodles were distributed nationwide from March through August of this year.

Product details are:

  • Ronzoni Smart Taste Extra Large Noodles, 12 oz cellophane wrap, manufacturing codes MAR3022H, MAR3122H, JUN0422H, JUN0522H, JUL2422H and JUL2522H, UPC number 71300 05008

According to the press release, “Further investigation indicates that the issue was caused by a temporary breakdown in Riviana’s packaging review processes.”

Consumers who purchased the noodles can return them to the store where they were purchased for a refund.
